Online career presentation and entrance assessment

Online career presentation

After you've been screened into the process, you'll be contacted by email inviting you to attend an online career presentation.

During the presentation, you'll learn more about a career in policing with the RCMP.

RCMP Online Entrance Assessment

After you attend the online career presentation, your next step is to complete the RCMP Online Entrance Assessment. We'll include a link to the assessment in the same career presentation invitation email.

You'll have 14 days to complete the online assessment from the date you received the link.

Assessment overview

The Assessment is a biased-free tool to assess applicants as part of the RCMP Officer recruiting process.

The Assessment is not an exam, it's an assessment of your personality, behaviour, and cognitive ability. It consists of 6 sections:

  • Section 1: Workstyle preference
  • Section 2: Language comprehension
  • Section 3: Numerical skills
  • Section 4: Spatial skills
  • Section 5: Memory quotient
  • Section 6: Business reasoning
Preparing for the assessment

Use the Online Entrance Assessment Preparatory Guide to prepare for the assessment. It has sample questions and scenarios to help you understand what to expect and how to succeed.

Schedule approximately 55 to 70 minutes to complete the assessment. Some sections of the assessment are timed, but there’s no overall time limit. We recommend that you complete the entire assessment in one session.

Advancing to next steps

Completing the RCMP Online Entrance Assessment doesn't guarantee advancement in the recruitment process. If you've passed the RCMP Online Entrance Assessment, your application has been retained. You'll continue with your application but you're not yet active in the recruitment process. If you're unsuccessful, you can re-apply after a 3-month waiting period.

Once your application has been selected, we'll verify that you meet the Basic Requirements.
