Prince District RCMP are investigating a two-vehicle head-on collision that occurred on Route 2 in Norboro this morning at approximately 8:10 a.m.

Prince District RCMP, along with Kensington Police Services, the Kensington Fire Department, and Island EMS, responded to the collision approximately five kilometres east of Kensington on Route 2 in Norboro.

Early indications suggest that an SUV crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a commercial truck. Route 2 was closed for approximately six hours while emergency crews responded to the scene and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist conducted an examination of the collision.

The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the commercial truck was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
