Kings District RCMP has arrested a youth after an online threat was made toward a fellow student.

On October 19, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Kings District RCMP received a report of a social media post threatening a student at a school in Auburn. The post included an image of a person holding an object described as a weapon, along with a caption indicating that the person was waiting for the recess bell.

Officers attended the area of the school and arrested the youth without incident. A knife was seized; however, it wasn’t the object shown in the image, which was later determined to be a metal pipe.

The youth, of Aylesford, was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court at a later date for uttering threats and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The investigation is ongoing.
