Harbour Grace RCMP arrested a 46-year-old man for breaching his court-imposed conditions after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Salmon Cove early Friday morning. The driver of that vehicle was also ticketed for operating with a suspended licence, and had her vehicle seized by police.
Around 1:00 a.m. on May 15, police received a call about a suspicious vehicle with burnt-out taillight near the community centre in Salmon Cove. Officers located and stopped the vehicle, and determined that the driver, a 41-year-old woman, had a suspended driver’s licence and that the car was not properly registered or insured.
She was ticketed for driving while suspended and operating without valid insurance. Her car was seized by police and impounded.
Police also identified a passenger in the vehicle as 46-year-old Roy Slade, who was the subject of a court-imposed curfew. Slade was arrested and transported to the Harbour Grace detachment, and appeared in court Friday on one charge of failure to comply with a release order.
