A recent RCMP traffic enforcement operation in Southeastern New Brunswick has resulted in 293 tickets being issued.

Between October 29 and October 31, 2026, members of the New Brunswick RCMP's Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit (TTEU), the Codiac Regional RCMP and New Brunswick’s Department of Justice and Public Safety conducted a traffic enforcement operation in the Greater Moncton region.

A total of 293 traffic violations were issued under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act, including a total of 69 for speeding. One driver was arrested for driving while impaired, 50 vehicles were towed, and 63 were inspected. Of the vehicles inspected, 18 were deemed unsafe to circulate in New Brunswick. A number of warnings were also issued during the operation.

"A well-maintained vehicle is a safe vehicle, and safety should always be a top priority for every motorist," said Cpl. Stéphane Dugas with the Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit. "By having a valid safety inspection, you’re not only protecting yourself but also safeguarding passengers, pedestrians, and fellow drivers. Take the time to validate, because a few minutes of diligence today can save lives tomorrow. We would also like to thank those who do their part to keep our roads safe by obeying traffic laws and maintaining their vehicles.”

The New Brunswick RCMP's TTEU conducts regular, targeted traffic enforcement on roadways throughout the province with the goals of improving road safety, educating motorists about traffic laws and to reduce serious injury and fatal collisions.

The public can assist in keeping dangerous drivers off the road by reporting them to police. If you see a dangerous or a suspected impaired driver, call 911. Your description of the driver, vehicle, licence plate number and direction of travel can assist police in making New Brunswick roads safer.
