45-year-old man charged following child luring investigation

A 45-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., has been charged in connection with an investigation into child luring in Moncton. 

On August 26, 2026, the Codiac Regional RCMP’s General Investigative Section (GIS) initiated an investigation into child luring after receiving information that a 45-year-old man was in contact with underage girls for a sexual purpose.

During the evening of September 10, 2026, the GIS located the suspect’s vehicle parked at a hotel on Mountain Road. The next day, the man was observed exiting the hotel with a female before they went to a nearby restaurant. The 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene. It was confirmed that the female was under the age of 16.  

On September 15, 2026, 45-year-old Timothy Roy appeared in Moncton Provincial Court via tele-remand and was charged with:

• Sexual assault
• Sexual interference on a person under the age of 16 years
• Human trafficking of a person under the age of 18 years
• Luring a child
• Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under the age of 18 years

He was remanded into custody. On September 18, 2026, he reappeared in Moncton Provincial Court for a bail hearing. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in court on October 26, 2026, for election and plea. 

Codiac Patrol, Codiac Crime Reduction, Prolific Offender and Property Crime Units also assisted with the investigation.
