Update, June 10, 2026: On June 8, 2026, 53-year-old Bradley Somerville from Esgenoôpetitj, was arrested following a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Micmac Road in Esgenoôpetitj, N.B., on June 6, 2026.
Bradley Somerville was charged in Miramichi Provincial Court with leaving a scene of a collision causing death. He was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2026.
On June 9, 2026, Bradley Somerville appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court and was released on a release order. He is scheduled to return to court on June 22, 2026.
A 33-year-old woman from Esgenoôpetitj, N.B., has died following a hit-and-run incident on Micmac Road in Esgenoôpetitj, N.B.
On June 6, 2026, at approximately 3:56 a.m., members of the Neguac RCMP responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Micmac Road in Esgenoôpetitj. The vehicle involved fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The collision is believed to have occurred when a vehicle travelling southeast on Micmac Road veered onto the shoulder and struck a pedestrian. The woman died at the scene as a result of her injuries.
Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the coroner’s office, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Micmac Road was closed for several hours while police investigated but has since reopened.
