RCMP investigating fatal collision near Inwood

On Oct. 18, at approximately 10 :30 a.m., Gimli RCMP responded to a report of truck that had gone into the ditch on Highway 17 near Inwood.
Local firefighters and paramedics also responded to the scene.
Officers learned a southbound truck being driven by a 71-year-old female had veered off the road into the ditch, striking a large berm.
The female, from Peguis First Nation, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. A 37-year-old male passenger, also from Peguis First Nation, was taken to hospital in Winnipeg with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
RCMP are investigating.
