Thompson RCMP arrest male after threatening neighbour with an axe

On October 8, 2026, just before 7 pm., Thompson RCMP received a report of a neighbour dispute involving a weapon on Laval Place.
Officers responded and learned a male had made threats to a female and her dog while she was outside her residence.
The male approached the female with an axe raised in a threatening manner and indicated he would harm the dog. The victim ran away and called police.
Officers were able to arrest the suspect without incident at his nearby residence and seized an axe.
A 21-year-old male faces the following charges:
- Assault with weapon
- Uttering threats to animals
He was later released on an Undertaking.
