Lac Du Bonnet RCMP executes search warrant after theft of truck and fuel tank

On Oct. 1, Lac du Bonnet RCMP were notified of a theft in the RM of Lac du Bonnet. It was reported that a pickup truck and a 300-gallon fuel tank were stolen from a rural property.
During the investigation, officers learned the truck and fuel tank were on a private property on Highway 11 in the RM of Lac du Bonnet.
On Oct. 4, Lac du Bonnet RCMP executed a search warrant for this property where the truck and fuel tank were recovered. A suspect was located near the truck on a grass trail in the back of the property and was arrested without incident.
While searching the property, police came across another trail and observed a pickup truck occupied by two males and one female. Police checks revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Oakbank RCMP on Sept. 29. Officers also learned that the female was wanted. All three occupants were arrested.
Kelly Bruneau, 38, from the RM of Lac du Bonnet, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and
- Fail to comply with conditions of release order.
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Tamara Fehr, 47, of no fixed address, is charged with:
Both were remanded into custody, then subsequently released on conditions with a pending court date.
Two other males located in the stolen pickup truck – a 42-year-old from Lac du Bonnet and a 26-year-old from Winnipeg – have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. They were released on conditions with a pending court date. Their names cannot be publicly released until charges are sworn.
