Lynn Lake RCMP investigating homicide

On September 20, 2026, at 7:30 a.m., a cell guard at the Lynn Lake RCMP detachment advised officers that a man was lying on the ground outside the detachment.

Officers attended and located a male with serious injuries. They immediately provided first aid and called EMS to attend but the 72-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The death is being treated as suspicious. Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services has assumed responsibility for the investigation.

Police believe the man left his residence to attend the detachment after being assaulted. He died shortly after arriving on the property.
