On June 17, at approximately 6 p.m., Swan River RCMP initiated a traffic stop on the driver of an SUV that had an expired temporary plate.
The stop occurred near the intersection of Main Street and 5th Avenue North, in Swan River. The driver told RCMP she did not have a driver’s license with her and gave her name. After some checking, RCMP learned the driver actually had a different name and that there was a warrant of arrest out for her after missing a court date.
The driver was arrested without incident.
A 30-year-old Swan River female faces charges of:
- Obstructing a police officer; and
- Failure to comply with an undertaking.
She was held in custody overnight, pending a court appearance on Thursday.
