Selkirk RCMP make arrest after break and enter in a Quonset

On May 19, 2026, at 9:30 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a suspicious person report on Norwood Road in the Petersfield area of the RM of St Andrews. 

It was reported that a male and a female were wandering around peoples’ yards. 

Officers attended immediately and located the female who was found to have an outstanding unendorsed warrant of arrest for charges of Fail to comply with a Probation Order. The male was not located. 

At 11:25 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a suspicious person report near Tallie Avenue, once again in the Petersfield area of the RM of St Andrews. The description of this person matched that of the suspicious male reported earlier. 

Selkirk RCMP, along with Police Service Dog Stewie, were able to track down the suspect who was located inside a Quonset on a property on Netley Street.

Jordan Kuz, a 38-year-old male from Gimli, was arrested for Break and Enter as well as Fail to comply with conditions of a release order. He was remanded in custody.

As for the female, Kayla Smith, a 36-year-old female from the RM of Bifrost, she was released on conditions with a pending court date.
