The RCMP National Memorial Service is the Force's most visible act of remembrance. Since 1935, the RCMP National Memorial Service has been held annually on the second Sunday in September. It is a time to remember and pay tribute to regular members, special constables, auxiliary constables and civilian members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Attend in person
The 2026 RCMP National Memorial Service is open to the public.
- Gates open at 8 a.m.
- Gates close at 8:45 am and all guests must be seated.
- Seating will be provided.
- Service starts promptly at 9 a.m. on the Parade Square and is approximately one hour.
- Public access to the RCMP Academy is available through the RCMP Heritage Centre entrance at 5907 Dewdney Avenue.
- The RCMP Academy is an active training site and a secure facility. Access is controlled. Personal items may be searched on entry.

The ceremony will also be streamed on the RCMP Depot Division YouTube channel. You can watch it live or any time after the event.

Media invitation
Media are invited to attend the RCMP National Memorial Service. A media availability will take place at 8:15 a.m., and a designated media area will be provided for parade coverage.
Members of the media are asked to:
- RSVP by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026.
- Arrive by 8:00 a.m. at the Fort Dufferin Guard Room (please use the RCMP Heritage Centre entrance at 5907 Dewdney Avenue). Interviews will not be arranged for late arrivals. There will be no event access once the parade has started.
- Bring government-issued photo identification.
- Remain in the designated media area unless otherwise directed by event staff.
- Stay for the duration of the memorial parade, which is approximately one hour.
Access is controlled. Media and visitors must be always accompanied while on the RCMP Academy grounds.
