Is the wild animal actively threatening a human life? 

• Call 9-1-1.

Is the wild animal in an urban area, but not actively threatening anyone? 

• Call the BC Conservation Officer Service at 1-877-952-7277.
• Examples include:
  • Accessing garbage or other human supplied food sources.
  • Instances where wildlife cannot be easily scared off.
  • Dangerous wildlife is in a public location like a city park or school during daylight hours.
  • When a cougar or wolf is seen in an urban area.
• In some instances, conservation officers may contact the police for assistance.

Experienced a wildlife collision or spotted roadkill?

• Report human injuries, vehicle damage, or an animal carcass that presents a highway safety issue:
  • Call 9-1-1 if there is possible imminent loss of human life, otherwise call your local RCMP non-emergency number (for Prince George it is 250-561-3300).
  • Report vehicle damage to your insurance company.
• Report an injured animal:

• Report an animal carcass for removal from a provincial highway:
