Each year the Ladysmith RCMP establishes strategic priorities and crime reduction initiatives to improve safety in our community. We need your input to help establish our new pro-active policing initiatives. We want to hear from you!
Police officers spend the majority of their time responding to calls for service and following up with a variety of investigative steps required to complete thorough investigations. When time allows, officers are in the community proactively working on crime reduction initiatives. Some examples of previous crime reduction initiatives include traffic safety campaigns targeting impaired or distracted drivers, supporting vulnerable populations by connecting clients with support agencies, and engaging with the community by attending events or conducting foot patrols in the parks.
"Input from the community is really a key piece of feedback that we look for before setting new initiatives" says Ladysmith detachment commander S/Sgt. Trevor Busch "We want to make sure we're focusing our efforts in the right areas that matter to the community".
A questionnaire will be available from February 9 to February 27, 2026 and can be found by using the link Ladysmith RCMP Community Consultation or scanning the QR code with your smart device.
