Leduc, Alta.- Project Street Light is scheduled for operation on Aug.13 and 14 in the City of Leduc and Leduc County. Project Street Light is a collaboration between police, municipal partners, social agencies and residents. It is designed to combine firm enforcement with compassionate intervention, ensuring that while crime and public disorder are disrupted, pathways toward long-term community well-being are also supported.

The project emphasizes four core priorities:

  • Street Safety and Enforcement: Targeting repeat offenders, warrant and public disorder, and conducting check stops.
  • Wrap-Around Services: Deploying outreach teams, crisis intervention, and diversion.
  • Community Engagement: Utilizing positive ticketing, high-visibility patrols, business and resident engagement.
  • Intelligence-Led Operations and Policing: Coordinating analyst support, offender targeting, hotspot analysis, and strategic deployment of resources.

Project Street Light is improving safety through visible policing and proactive crime reduction. Police are focusing on locations and specified targets identified through crime analysis and community feedback.

Crime prevention is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to sharing the successes achieved through this project.
