Okotoks RCMP look to identify youth in recent bear spray incident

Okotoks, Alta.- Okotoks RCMP are hoping to identify a pair of youth from a recent bear spray incident at the Okotoks Recreation Center.

On April 30th, 2026, at approximately 2:30pm, Okotoks RCMP responded to a call that a youth had been bear sprayed at the Okotoks Rec Centre.

The victim of the incident fled the scene prior to police arrival and video footage was obtained; however, both the victim and the suspect were unable to be identified. 

Due to both the victim and suspect appearing to be youth, no images are being released. 

Police are seeking assistance in identifying the victim who is described as:

  • Male between 15-16 years old 
  • Caucasian
  • Short, brown hair
  • Wearing dark coloured jeans, a black t shirt, and black sneakers
